Arkansas State picked up their 12th commitment for the Class of 2024 Wednesday afternoon when Little Rock Parkview defensive lineman Alex Martin called to make his pledge.

Martin, (6-2, 312) boasts a 650-pound squat and holds offers from Cincinnati, Kansas State, Memphis, UNLV, Austin Peay, UAPB, Jackson State, and Mississippi Valley State in addition to the Arkansas State offer.

He earned All-State honors in 2022 after recording over 50 tackles, to include 4 solo tackles against Shiloh Christian in the Class 5A State Championship game.

Martin spoke with RedWolfReport.com to discuss why he chose Arkansas State.

"What made me choose A-State was the relationships I have with the coaches, especially Coach Vinson Reynolds (DL) and Coach Zac Sias (defensive G.A.)," said Martin. " [That] and how I feel I can be developed under Coach Reynolds."

He said there was one other big thing that came into play for him as well.

"The fact that I’m still pretty close to home," said Martin.
