With the college football season having reached its midway point, Arkansas State running back and return special Johnnie Lang Jr. has been named to the CBS Sports Midseason All-America team.
The CBS Sports panel of college football experts placed Lang on the Midseason All-America team at the all-purpose position. Lang ranks third nationally, tops in the Sun Belt Conference, with 166.29 all-purpose yards per game.
He ranks eighth nationally and leads the league with a kickoff return average of 27.8 yards. Lang has returned 23 kicks for 640 yards, including a 98-yard touchdown against ULM. He has eight punt returns for 55 yards, 82 rushes for 313 yards and two scores while catching 15 passes for 156 yards and two more scores.
Lang and the Red Wolves visit Lafayette to face the Ragin' Cajuns Saturday, Oct. 22, at 4:00 p.m. in a game televised on ESPN+. A-State's next home game is Saturday, Oct. 29, at 3:00 p.m. against South Alabama in a game aired nationally on ESPNU.
