Arkansas State has landed the commitment of J.T. Shrout, a transfer from Colorado, after his visit to Jonesboro over the weekend.
He will graduate from Colorado in May, then will transition to Arkansas State with one year of eligibility remaining. He could potentially land a second year of eligibility if he gets a medical redshirt after missing the entire 2021 season with a torn ACL.
Shrout threw for 1,220 yards, seven touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2022 for the Buffaloes.
He is one of three quarterbacks to leave Colorado after Deion Sanders was hired. Sanders informed the team that his son, Shedeur, will lead the Buffaloes moving forward.
Shrout was a 3-Star prospect coming out of high school, and is a 3-Star rated QB in the Rivals Transfer Portal rankings.
