Arkansas State head football coach Butch Jones announced Wednesday on National Signing Day that the Red Wolves have added four signees and 21 transfers to the Red Wolves’ 2025 signing class.
The class ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference by 247Sports, Rivals and On3. Nationally, the signing class ranks 74th by Rivals, 77th by 247Sports and 77th by On3, marking the fourth consecutive year Jones and his staff have assembled an incoming class rated among the top five in school history. Forty-nine players from 16 different states make up the group.
Although just four of the 48 players announced today are high school recruits, A-State has a program record 26 high school signees. Twenty-three of the remaining class members are either FBS (14), FCS (2), Division II (2), Division III (1), or JUCO (4). Including 21 transfers and 10 early enrollees announced in December, 31 members of the class will be available to participate in A-State’s upcoming spring camp slated to begin March 17.
Since the December early signing date, A-State has added eight players on the offensive side of the ball, including quarterback Ethan Crawford (Southern Miss) and running back Kenyon Clay (Southern Miss). Tight end Tyler Fortenberry (Vanderbilt) and wide receivers Nana Burris (FIU / Stetson), JJ Harrell (Mississippi State) and Andrew Jones (Valley View) along with offensive linemen Will Saxton (Southern Miss) and Chase Stratford (Navarro College) join the 2025 roster.
Defensively, A-State adds 16 players to the class, including Ronnie Blossom (Warren Central HS), Landon Canady (Parkview HS), Demarcus Hendricks (Texas A&M-Kingsville), Jakwon McGinney (Hutchinson CC), Simeon Mitchell (McNeese State), Cody Sigler (West Alabama) and Lincoln Stueve (Blue Valley HS) on the defensive line. Linebackers Aaron Alexander (Michigan State / UMass) and Wyatt Wright (NC State) join defensive backs Avante Dickerson (Utah State / Oregon), Trevon Howard (Iowa State), Joedrick Lewis (Southeast Missouri), AG McGhee (Marshall), Luke Wisham (Louisiana Tech) and Trenton Yowe (App State) on the 2025 roster. Punter Bobby Engstler (California) also joined the class.
The enter class is made up of 49 players, 42 who led their teams to the state playoffs while in high school, including 12 who played in a state championship game. Out of those 12, six were part of a state title while in high school.
The group consists of 40 players who were listed as at least a three-star prospect by either 247Sports, ESPN, On3 or Rivals coming out of high school. Out of 26 high school players who have signed with A-State, 21 are rated as a three-star recruit.
The current class in total includes 21 offensive players and 27 defensive players, including seven offensive linemen and 11 on the defensive front. A-State has added 12 defensive backs, seven wide receivers, four linebackers , three running backs, two quarterbacks and two tight ends.
A-State added 11 players from Mississippi, eight from Texas, seven from Alabama, six from Florida, three from Arkansas and Tennessee, two from Michigan, and one each from California, Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio and South Carolina.
