Arkansas State picked up their 18th commitment for the Class of 2012 Tuesday evening when Tallassee, Alabama wide receiver Dijon Paschal gave his verbal pledge.
The 6-2, 185 pound Paschall spoke with RedWolfReport.com about his commitment, in addition to a few other items.
"I decided to commit after talking to my family and seeing what was best for me," said Paschal. "We wanted to see how things would work out with the coaches, and we made the decision."
He gave credit to two coaches for showing him the love, and letting him know he was wanted in Jonesboro.
"Coach Rhett Lashlee is just a great guy," said Paschal. "I've been able to talk with him and coach Casey Woods nearly every day. Sometimes it would he be like "hey, how are you doing?", and other times they just really showed me a lot of love and let me know that they were interested in me. That really showed me that I could go there and really help out."
"They are bringing me in on an official visit this weekend," Paschal added. "I'll be going mainly to check out all of the facilities and to see the game."
He also spoke about the success that the Red Wolves are having this year.
"They are doing great," said Paschal. "I hope that this success continues into next year so I can be a part of that. I mean, really, it is just great that they are doing so well right now."
He also spoke about how his senior season of football went.
"I don't know any of my stats, but we had a great year," he said. "It ended crazy for us. There were a lot of bad calls that went against us, but we also had a new coaching staff. They were great, and I learned a lot from them."
He also spoke about his goals now that he is committed to the Red Wolves.
"Right now I'm in basketball and after that I will run track," said Paschal. "I just want to finish strong in sports and in the classroom and make sure I do well with my grades."
