Demario Davis talks NFL draft

Former Arkansas State linebacker Demario Davis had a tremendous collegiate career, and his hard work should pay off this weekend during the 2012 NFL Draft.
Davis increased his draft stock with a solid showing at the NFL combine, and several websites have him going anywhere from the second to the seventh rounds.
One such website, NFLDraftScout.com has Davis projected to go in the third round, and has him ranked as the ninth best linebacker out of 135 in the draft.
He spoke with RedWolfReport.com, and gave his thoughts on the draft.
"I've spoken with almost every team in the NFL so far," said Davis. "I have 10 to 20 teams showing strong interest right now, but I couldn't pin point any one team that I feel like would take me for sure."
"I have been talking to my agent, and listening to the teams," Davis added. "I think I could go earlier in the draft than later just based on the talk. I'm not going to name any teams that I like or anything like that, I'm just going to let the Good Lord take control and wait for my name to be called."
Davis also spoke on what he plans to accomplish before the start of his rookie season.
"The main thing is to learn at least 80 percent of the play book before camp," said Davis. "If you can learn that and learn the coaches terminology, you should be okay from there. Other than that, the main thing is just keeping myself in shape."
He also said he is grateful for the opportunity he was given at Arkansas State University.
"I had a great college career at Arkansas State," said Davis. "I learned a lot from all of the coaches, and I feel they all gave me a good launching pad for my professional career. I'm just grateful for everything I learned there."
Davis also said he was proud to be part of one of the Red Wolves best teams in school history.
"I'm glad we was able to do what we did," said Davis. "It felt great to be able to accomplish everything that we got accomplished. I just hope that we left the younger players something to build on, and I wish the guys still on the team the best of luck in everything they do."
