Nearly two months after adding 31 players for the 2025 campaign, Arkansas State baseball head coach Mike Silva announced five additions to the 2026 roster on Monday.

“First I want to commend Chris Joblin, Jerry Cervantez, Cody Livingston, and the rest of our staff for their efforts over the past couple of months,” Silva said. “We wanted to bring in guys that could make an immediate impact straight out of high school, and we feel that our signees are ready to do that. We look forward to getting them on campus next summer and getting to work.”

Them Telfer signed with A-State out of Mid-Prairie High School, where he became the top left-handed pitching prospect in Iowa according to Perfect Game. In his first season with the Golden Hawks, the 2024 River Valley Conference Player of the Year finished inside the league’s top five in 14 different categories.

Telfer struck out a conference-leading 70 batters and allowed only two hits, holding opponents to a .024 batting average en route to a First-Team All-Conference selection as a pitcher.

At the plate, he led the conference with five home runs and 31 RBIs.

Ranked as the fifth-best shortstop in Arkansas according to Perfect Game, Drew Gartman will don the Scarlet and Black following the conclusion of his senior campaign.

The 6’4 righty helped lead Valley View to a Class 5A state championship in 2024 before joining the Sticks/White Sox Scout Team 17U Brewster over the summer.

Gartman earned a PG grade of nine from scouts, which is described as a potential top 10 round pick and/or highest level college prospect.

Right-handed pitcher Will Leslie signed with the Red Wolves out of Cabot High School, making a state semifinal appearance in 2024. Perfect Game’s 25th-ranked prospect in Arkansas recently participated in the 2024 17U WWBA Mid-South Regionals, earning All-Tournament Team recognition.

2024 Perfect Game Preseason All-American and All-Region selection Derek Martinez joined the program out of TNXL Academy in Ocoee, Florida. Perfect Game’s 36th-ranked first baseman also plays at catcher, adding another utility piece for the Red Wolves.

Martinez last played at the 2024 PG WWBA World Championship in October, earning All-Tournament honors.

Joey McLaughlin signed with A-State after a strong junior campaign at Harrah High School. Perfect Game’s 26th-ranked prospect in Oklahoma posted a .429 batting average and 1.429 OPS along with eight home runs and 30 RBIs.

McLaughlin’s last appearance on the diamond took place at the 2024 17/18U Oklahoma Championship at OU.
