Red Wolf baseball lands commitment from Blaine Harpenau

Arkansas State baseball landed the commitment of Kirkwood Community College RHP Blaine Harpenau on Monday night. Harpenau announced his commitment on Twitter.

"Excited to announce my commitment to Arkansas State University! Thank you to everyone who has helped me through this process," said Harpenau

According to Kirkwood C.C. Harpenau, a Remsen, Iowa native, appeared in 11 games during the 2022 season, picking up six wins with just three losses. He had a 4.50 ERA in 48 innings pitched with 55 K's. He appeared in 10 games in 2023, starting in 7 of them, where he earned four wins and three losses. He had a 7.09 ERA in 40.2 innings pitched with 41 K's.

Harpenau has two years of eligibility remaining. His fast ball sits between 87-90 mph, topping out at 91 with an 81-85 MPH slider and 79-82 mph change up.
