Harris, standing 6-4 and weighing 280 pounds, originally signed with South Carolina out of high school before transferring to ICC. He was part of Itawamba's offensive line that helped lead the Indians to 429.3 yards of total offense per game this season. He played in three games as a true freshman at South Carolina in 2011 before receiving a medical redshirt for the 2012 season that saw him participate in four contests, including one as a starter.
Prior to signing with South Carolina, Harris was a two-time all-state selection at Pepperell High School in Lindale, Ga. Also a three-time all-area choice, he was named PrepStar's All-Southeast Region and invited to the Offense-Defense All-America Bowl as a senior.
